Culture
Our culture is just as important as our curriculum because it creates the conditions we believe will nurture faith and obedience to the Spirit. Our five cultural values underpin who we are and how we behave together.
Honour: We honour God, and we celebrate the value that God has ascribed to all people
Safety: We carefully maintain a safe space where everyone is accepted as they are
Compassion: We seek God’s heart for other people and we love them from the overflow of God’s heart for us
Courage: We are courageous and take risks in obedience to Jesus
Celebration: We give God the glory for everything He does through testimony and celebration
Curriculum
Worship & ministry times
Worship and ministry times are a significant part of our times together, because we want everything we do to flow out of our intimate relationship with Jesus. We don’t just want to learn about the Holy Spirit, we rely on Him guiding us every step of the way.
Activations
‘Activations’ are special activities designed to get students practicing being led by the Spirit. For example, if our teaching session is about hearing God, it will be followed by an activation which gets students listening to Him in specific ways. An activation could be praying for each other to be healed, or going out on the streets of Oxford to see what it feels like to be led by God to speak to someone.
Small groups
Because activations can involve us being out of our comfort zones, students are put into small groups at the start of the course and remain in those groups for the duration. These are safe spaces to build strong relationships and cheer each other on as you take steps of courage.
